Report: How the Ballon d’Or could play huge role in whether Cole Palmer decides to stay at Chelsea
There have been rumours about Manchester City being interested in re-signing Cole Palmer from Chelsea.
However, there is absolutely no chance of Chelsea selling their best player this summer. There is no reason to, while Palmer himself should not have a desire to leave the club.
The Blues have their star man tied down to a contract that runs until 2033 and have just won the Club World Cup. Palmer was pivotal to their success, scoring two goals in the final against Paris Saint-Germain.
The possibility of the attacking midfielder wanting a change of scenery in the future, though, is not something that can be ruled out.

Cole Palmer’s Ballon d’Or aspirations could see him leave Chelsea
Palmer will be more than satisfied with what he has been able to achieve at Chelsea so far.
He had a 20-goal season in his first year at the club and has won Club World Cup and Conference League medals. However, the 23-year-old seemingly wants more than that.
According to TEAMtalk, Palmer is hoping to win both the Premier League and Champions League at Chelsea so that he can achieve his Ballon d’Or dream.
If the Blues are unable to do that, the outlet claims that Palmer would consider leaving Stamford Bridge in his bid to claim the Ballon d’Or.
Going forward, Chelsea are going to have some really talented individuals who can play in the No.10 role.
Chelsea are currently chasing Xavi Simons and have already signed Estevao Willian, who scored a fantastic goal against them at the Club World Cup. But they will not want to lose Palmer and will be eager to help him win the Ballon d’Or as a Chelsea player.

Why Cole Palmer has no interest in rejoining Manchester City
City are a team who are ready to compete for the Premier League title and Champions League trophy at this very moment.
They also have the best manager in the world in Pep Guardiola. Yet, according to TEAMtalk, Palmer has no intention of returning to the Etihad.
Their report states that Palmer feels that City should have trusted him more and that the England international is enjoying proving them wrong at Chelsea.
| Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Premier League | 70 | 37 | 20 |
| Conference League | 6 | 0 | 3 |
| Conference League qualifiers | 2 | 0 | 0 |
| FA Cup | 7 | 1 | 2 |
| Carabao Cup | 6 | 2 | 2 |
| Club World Cup | 6 | 3 | 2 |
| Total | 97 | 43 | 29 |
A move to Real Madrid or Barcelona may be appealing, though, so Chelsea need to match Palmer’s ambition if they want him to see out his very long contract with them.
