Estevao Willian admits he can already see himself playing at another club after Chelsea

Even though Estevao Willian isn’t even officially a Chelsea player yet, he’s admitted he can already see himself playing elsewhere after his time at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues confirmed over a year ago that Estevao Willian would be joining them from Palmeiras in the 2025 summer window.

The 18-year-old rising star will be completing his move to Stamford Bridge straight after the Club World Cup tournament. However, he’s now currently preparing to play for Palmeiras against Chelsea in Saturday’s quarter-final showdown.

Jason Cundy thinks Chelsea must be patient with Estevao when he joins next season because it’s a big leap from the Brazilian league to the Premier League. However, the right-winger has the perfect opportunity to lay down a marker this weekend by performing against his future teammates.

Estevao Willian already eyes La Liga spell

Estevao, 18, will soon be getting his first crack at European football when he leaves his native Brazil to become a Chelsea player.

However, the teenage attacker has admitted during an interview this week that he can already imagine himself playing for a club in La Liga after his stint at Chelsea.

When asked if he will play in La Liga in the future, Estevao told AS: “Yes, of course. It’s a huge league, with great teams and players. It would be incredible to have the opportunity to play in Spain one day, but right now I’m only focused on Chelsea and, before that, the match against them with Palmeiras in this World Cup.”

If we were advising Estevao, we’d warn him that the comments above are likely to divide the Chelsea support. While aspirations of playing in Spain are completely normal, it’s perhaps something better said behind closed doors.

Estevao’s valuation has shot up recently because of his rise at Palmeiras, so Blues fans are right to be excited about his imminent arrival.

Despite the claim that Barcelona were confident of signing Estevao, he ended up choosing Chelsea. The youngster should be solely focused on trying to crack the Premier League before dreaming into the future of a La Liga transfer.

Estevao Willian names his two biggest dreams

During the lengthy interview with AS, Estevao has shared his two biggest individual goals.

When asked if he can imagine winning the Ballon d’Or, Estevao said: “It’s my second biggest dream, only after winning the World Cup with the Brazilian national team.”

Without a doubt, Estevao is a confident young player with major aspirations. Has he now got the talent to back it up, though?

Estevao has been compared to Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, who he now plays with in the Brazil national side. We don’t have too long to wait until the Chelsea signing is competing for a spot at Stamford Bridge and trying to live up to the gigantic hype.
