Nicolas Jackson holds the key as Chelsea target £90m Premier League star, 'there is a chance'

Reports have begun to swirl that Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson could be on the move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Jackson saw his minutes drastically drop off during the Club World Cup, and he didn’t come off the bench in the final against PSG.

Manchester United have been linked with signing Jackson, as those at Old Trafford continue to try and rebuild following a nightmare 2024/25.

It has been said that Chelsea are not desperate to part ways with the Senegal international, however strong competition for his place has emerged off the back of signings of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

As talk of Jackson’s exit rages on, the Blues continue to be linked with the signing of another new attacker. This is in spite of also adding Jamie Gittens and Estevao Willian to their ranks ahead of the new signing.

Chelsea believe they can sign Morgan Rogers by offering players to Aston Villa

Seen by many as the dream signing, Morgan Rogers continues to be mentioned as someone the club admire.

The Aston Villa man has been reported to be valued at £90m (GiveMeSport), however Chelsea may try and drive this price down.

Transfer insider Graeme Bailey exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that Chelsea believe sending some players to Aston Villa could help them secure a deal.

He said: “Chelsea are not done in this window we know that – they want this versatile attacking player and Morgan Rogers is a player they really like.

“Joe Shields, described by Cole Palmer as the Goat, is trusted by Chelsea’s top brass – he knows a player and he knows Rogers well.

“Chelsea believe there is a chance, it is not purely about money but if they say can send one of the defenders and/or a Nicolas Jackson to them, this could help persuade them to do something.

“Ironically Chelsea turning to Rogers could free up Alejandro Garnacho to replace Rogers at Villa Park – this could all fit nicely.”

Nicolas Jackson could hold the key to Chelsea signing Rogers

If Chelsea are looking for someone to be desperate to sign Jackson, Villa could be the perfect candidates due to their manager’s thoughts.

Unai Emery was in charge of Villarreal when the striker was there, and Bailey said the manager is a keen admirer of the forward from their time working together.

He said: “Let’s not forget Unai Emery knows Jackson, he rates him highly – Villa have not re-signed Rashford, they lost Duran in January – they need something else aside from Watkins, and I think that could be Jackson.

“Jackson, in my opinion, needs a move now – not because he has done much wrong at Chelsea, but he has seen Joao Pedro and Delap come in this summer, for me he could go to somewhere like Villa and be the main man – I think it would suit him.”

It has already been predicted that Chelsea will move for Rogers if Jackson does go the other way, and this is a deal Blues fans would be desperate to see.
