Report: What Chelsea players are already joking about Noni Madueke after he left the squad before CWC win

As Chelsea celebrated their triumph in the Club World Cup against PSG in the final, one of the players who had started the competition alongside them was nowhere to be seen.

Noni Madueke departed the camp just hours before they took to the field at the MetLife stadium, with him now finalising his move to Arsenal.

Gunners fans have not been convinced by signing Madueke since the news broke, however a £52m deal has been agreed for another player to make the switch across London.

Mikel Arteta privately reached out to Madueke to convince him that the Emirates is the right place to be, however there must be an element of disappointment in the winger’s mind that he was not a part of the celebrations at full-time of their dominant 3-0 win.

Chelsea players joking that Noni Madueke can finally show Arsenal players a winner’s medal after Club World Cup win

His departure will be of frustration to Enzo Maresca, however the manager showed he has plenty of solutions to build without him following their dominant performance against the Champions League holders.

According to the Mail Online, the England international is set to be given a winner’s medal despite not being present.

The report goes on to say that Chelsea players are already joking that Madueke can show his new teammates what a winners’ medal looks like, with them making a name for themselves as being less successful than their London counterparts.

Arteta’s side have not won a trophy since 2020, while the Blues picked up two last season, adding the Club World Cup to their Conference League triumph.

Chelsea fans already know their ideal Madueke replacement

With the extortionate prize money Chelsea have picked up from their Club World Cup journey, the Blues have the capability to make at least one more big signing this summer.

Chelsea fans want Rodrygo from Real Madrid to replace the Englishman, and the potential of that deal may have increased following his social media exploits after the game.

Rodrygo praised Joao Pedro after victory against PSG, with the potential of the two countrymen linking up together at Stamford Bridge a really exciting one.

The Brazilian was handed just 92 minutes by Xabi Alonso during the competition, and does not look to be at the forefront of the new manager’s thinking at Madrid.
