Jose Mourinho shares how he's really feeling as he prepares to face Chelsea in the Champions League
Chelsea’s upcoming European fixture at home to Benfica has just become extra special because it will see the return of Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are currently focused on Saturday’s Premier League game at home to Brighton. Afterwards, Chelsea host Portuguese giants Benfica in the group phase of this season’s Champions League.
The fact that Jose Mourinho became the new Benfica head coach earlier in September has added a new energy to next week’s match.

Mourinho, 62, has gone down in Chelsea history for what he achieved during two spells in their manager’s dugout. In total, he won eight trophies in charge of the Blues.
He’s had plenty of experience coming up against his former club over the years, and Mourinho’s career record against Chelsea includes five wins in 14 attempts.

Jose Mourinho speaks about imminent match against Chelsea
Mourinho has discussed his imminent return to Chelsea as the Benfica boss, admitting he will be able to focus on the match itself once the whistle is blown.
Speaking via Stan Sport Football, Mourinho said: “Chelsea belongs to my history, I belong to Chelsea’s history. But that’s football. They want to win. I want to win. And as I was saying before, I will realise where I am before the match. I will realise where I am after the match. During the match, I think I have the capacity to forget and just to compete.”
Enzo Maresca has hailed Chelsea legend Mourinho before the two coaches lock horns in the Champions League.
Many Blues fans regard Mourinho as their greatest ever manager, spearheading the rise into an elite club in the mid-2000s. Even if he’s not quite the same coach in the present day, he’s fresh into a new challenge in Portugal.
Benfica have started life under Mourinho with one win and one draw, and they face Gil Vicente on Friday night before attention turns to Chelsea.

Chelsea need to get up and running in Champions League
After losing to 3-1 away Bayern Munich in their Champions League opener, Chelsea need to get some points on the board in Europe.
Hopefully, Maresca’s side can make their home fixtures count to ensure they qualify for the knockout rounds.

Before the season started, Jamie Carragher’s hot take on Chelsea was that they wouldn’t qualify from the group stages of the Champions League. Last season, 11 points from eight group matches was enough to qualify for the knockout play-off phase. It is why we are not worried about the Blues just yet.
