Aaron Anselmino

- Club: Borussia Dortmund (Germany)

Aaron Anselmino signed for Chelsea from Boca Juniors last summer, but he only joined the first-team squad in January.
He made one appearance for the Blues at the Club World Cup, so a loan move to Borussia Dortmund seems sensible for his development.
Anselmino made his Dortmund debut in their 3-0 Bundesliga win against Union Berlin before missing the next game through injury.
After a spell on the sidelines, the Argentine has now established himself as a first-team regular at the Signal Iduna Park.

Leo Castledine

Leo Castledine joined League One playoff contenders Huddersfield Town on loan and made an immediate impact in his first handful of games.
Castledine scored an incredible volley as Huddersfield knocked Sunderland out of the EFL Cup in the second round.
The Englishman is now in even better form, scoring four goals in his last five games for the Terriers from midfield.
Kiano Dyer

Kiano Dyer made several appearances for Chelsea’s first team in the Conference League last season, but he needed to go on loan this year.
Dyer joined Eredivisie club Volendam in September, and he made his debut in a 3-0 defeat to Go Ahead Eagles shortly after.
The midfielder has only played a total of 26 minutes and looks likely to be recalled in the January window.
David Datro Fofana

David Datro Fofana was reportedly close to a deadline-day loan move to Championship club Charlton Athletic, but the deal fell through.

He has scored five times so far this season, showing that he probably deserved more opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
Brodi Hughes

Right-back Brodi Hughes completed his first-ever loan move to League One club AFC Wimbledon days before the deadline.
He made his debut in the EFL Trophy against Stevenage, playing all 90 minutes in a 5-1 defeat to the League One side.
Hughes has only played once since, in another EFL Trophy match, so he must be disappointed.
Nicolas Jackson

Nicolas Jackson’s deadline day loan to Bayern Munich was one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer window.
Chelsea pulled out of the deal when Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury, but they ultimately re-entered talks after recalling Marc Guiu from Sunderland.
Jackson has scored three goals in the Bundesliga and two in the Champions League despite playing second fiddle to Harry Kane.
Omari Kellyman

The first season after Omari Kellyman’s £19 million transfer from Aston Villa to Chelsea could not have gone much worse.

Kellyman’s loan with the Bluebirds has only been mediocre so far, as he has not nailed down a place in the starting eleven.
Jimmy-Jay Morgan

Kendry Paez’s arrival at Stamford Bridge was overshadowed by Estevao Willian’s, but the Chelsea hierarchy thinks he, too, can become an excellent player.
Paez made his Strasbourg debut in their 1-0 away win against Metz, and his first start was a week later in another 1-0 win against Nantes.
However, Paez has not kept his place in Liam Rosenior’s starting eleven, so it has been an underwhelming move so far.
Mike Penders

Mike Penders has so much potential that he might be the reason Chelsea did not sign a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.

Ishe Samuels-Smith

Ishe Samuels-Smith was involved in arguably the strangest transfer of the summer. Chelsea sold him to Strasbourg for £6 million and later reversed the deal.
After returning to Stamford Bridge, the versatile defender headed to Swansea City on loan for the season, where he has not played much.
Samuels-Smith’s lack of game time is even more concerning because Swansea are in a Championship relegation battle.
Mamadou Sarr

Mamadou Sarr joined Chelsea from Strasbourg in June and was then loaned back to his former club in August.

Ronnie Stutter

Promising striker Ronnie Stutter has scored plenty of goals for Chelsea’s under-21 and under-18 teams in recent years.

Instead, Stutter has continued to find men’s football difficult, making just two appearances for the National League club.
Teddy Sharman-Lowe

Caleb Wiley spent the first half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Strasbourg in Ligue 1 and the second at Championship club Watford.
Wiley rejoined the Hornets this summer, but he has only played 222 minutes due to an adductor injury.
