The one signing Chelsea must make in 2026 that could stop Enzo Maresca from walking away
Chelsea are not expected to be busy in the winter transfer window after a busy summer of spending before the season began.
The Blues spent big alongside the extortionate amount of player sales they made, and made plenty of additions to their attack.
The Chelsea Chronicle have already named Estevao Willian as their signing of the season, with him set to make a real impact on the club over a long period of time.
The position that Chelsea MUST strengthen in 2026 is _ _ _ _ _ _
Despite an influx of new attackers joining the club, there were far less defensive additions to shout about. Only Jorrel Hato was added to the first team setup.

Marc Guehi is the signing Chelsea must make in 2026
We believe a new centre-back is crucial to helping Chelsea for the rest of the season, and we are naming Marc Guehi as the player the club have to sign.
Previously a part of the Chelsea setup, the Crystal Palace captain will have just half a campaign left on his contract before it expires.
Chelsea have been told they are ‘crackers’ for not already signing Guehi, however it was Liverpool who were at the front of the queue over the summer.
A deal was not completed though, and Chelsea offering Palace decent money in January could see the FA Cup holders accept, in order to not lose him for free.
The Blues are desperate for some leadership at the back, and Guehi’s experience as a Premier League captain would be a great area for the likes of Josh Acheampong to learn from.

Enzo Maresca needs a new centre-back
Maresca made it clear over the summer that he wanted the club to sign a new centre-back after Levi Colwill suffered an ACL injury.
Chelsea need to make room before they can sign another centre-back. Who are you getting rid of?
Levi Colwill is definitely untouchable ❌
He was not given what he desired, and this is likely part of the reason Maresca is at odds with the board right now.
With Manchester City interested in Maresca, the Blues need to do what they can to appease the boss, and this includes the type of signing he is wanting.
The performances of the backline at Stamford Bridge this season will not have pleased the boss, and adding Guehi to their ranks would be a massive upgrade on the current available options.
