Chelsea U18s show Calum McFarlane how it’s done with emphatic victory
The Chelsea first team are under pressure to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Monday against Nottingham Forest, and have just been shown exactly how it’s done by their Under 18s.
The Blues’ domestic struggles have seen the end of Liam Rosenior’s time in charge of the club, with Calum McFarlane tasked with taking the reins until the end of the season.
Monday’s clash with the Europa League semi-finalists will be the first time the interim coach has taken charge at Stamford Bridge, after leading them out for three games so far.
Chelsea U18s show first team how it’s done with 4-0 win
The Chelsea U21s didn’t start the club’s weekend off too well after being defeated by Tottenham, despite starting the likes of Shumaira Mheuka and Jesse Derry.
However, the U18s made lightwork of Birmingham City, winning 4-0 away from home.
The young Blues are 14 points clear at the top of the Southern Premier League table, and were on fire in front of goal in the penultimate game of the season.

Kobe Barbour opened the scoring with his eighth goal of the season, giving Chelsea the lead before the break.
A second half rampage followed, with Riley Ebho scoring for the club for the first time, before Chris Atherton and Jayshade Greenwood found the net late on.
Greenwood achieved notoriety amongst Chelsea fans after scoring against arch-rivals Spurs just days after joining from Wolves.
The first team squad would love to replicate this result on Monday, with their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League quickly fading away.
The best chance the Blues have is finishing sixth, on the premise that Aston Villa finish fifth but go on to win the Europa League.
They will be facing Forest themselves three days after this game, needing to overturn a one-goal deficit from the first leg at the City Ground.
