Young Porto fan tells Francesco Farioli to ignore Chelsea move because 'it's cold'
While he might not be a top contender for the Chelsea job, Porto manager Francesco Farioli has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. Now, a young fan has ordered him to stay.
Chelsea are scouring the market for a new manager after sacking Liam Rosenior, with Calum McFarlane set to remain in interim charge until the end of the season. He will remain gaffer for the next five games.
As things stand, Chelsea have a long-winded list that includes Niko Kovac, Oliver Glasner, and Farioli as outside names. But the main contenders consist of Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva, as well as Xabi Alonso.
Ultimately, Chelsea have to find the best possible manager who will work with BlueCo, which in itself will be difficult. Farioli is still being linked, but a young Porto fan has made his feelings clear to Farioli.
Porto fan orders Farioli to ignore ‘cold’ Chelsea move
According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, Farioli was told to overlook a move to Chelsea and remain Porto manager by a young supporter of the Portuguese club. Indeed, Farioli was told that “it is cold”.
While the young Porto supporter might have simply meant the weather, it could be attributed to the way BlueCo treat their managers, too. Rosenior lasted just 106 days, managing 23 games as Chelsea manager.

Farioli is a contender, and Chelsea are hoping to convince the Porto gaffer of a possible move, according to reports. It comes after Porto secured the Liga NOS title on Saturday, pipping Jose Mourinho’s Benfica.
An impressive achievement, even more so because Mourinho guided Benfica to an unbeaten season. It sees Andre Villas-Boas get one over Mourinho too, with Villas-Boas the current president of Porto.
Farioli’s connection to Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi
In the penultimate Premier League game of the season, Chelsea have the chance to relegate Tottenham to the Championship. It will be a highlight in what has been a dismal season for the North Londoners.
It will see the astonishing sight of De Zerbi managing in the Championship, going from the Champions League to England’s second tier. Farioli, meanwhile, has a strong connection with the Tottenham boss.
Farioli, now 37, worked under De Zerbi as a goalkeeping coach at both Sassuolo and Benevento. Now a manager in his own right, there is a scenario in which Farioli is at Chelsea and De Zerbi drops a division.
