Richard Keys has hinted at who he thinks will be Mauricio Pochettino’s first signing as Chelsea manager.
The pundit took to Twitter to speculate as to whether Harry Kane would reunite with his former manager across London.
Pochettino looks set to become the next manager at Stamford Bridge after a number of other candidates have fallen by the wayside.
Julian Nagelsmann was seen by many to be the favourite for the role, with the vacancy coinciding with his sacking by Bayern Munich.
However, the emergence of more candidates seemingly spooked the German to the point where he was concerned he wouldn’t actually get the job, seeing him pull out the running.
This has left the former Tottenham boss a clear run at negotiations with the club, which all reports are claiming have been going really well.
Pochettino could sign Kane
Speculation has already emerged over who would be at the top of the Argentine’s shortlist as potential transfer targets if he does become the next manager at Stamford Bridge.
Keys has now claimed that there may be a temptation to make a proper attempt to sign Kane from their London rivals.
He said: “Just a thought – with Poch on his way to Chelsea – does that mean Kane might join him?”
The England captain has been strongly linked with a move away from Spurs this summer, as they continue to linger a long way away from a trophy that has eluded him for his career so far.
It took Pochettino moving to France to secure silverware in his career, and Kane may find a similar fate if he decides to move to Stamford Bridge, and a club who are in desperate need of someone to put the ball in the net.
