Ralf Rangnick now tells league-winning manager to take the Tottenham job instead of Chelsea one

Austria manager Ralf Rangnick has advised Julian Nagelsmann to become the next Tottenham manager.

He told Sky Sports Germany that the prospect of managing in North London is exciting, in the face of recent rumours linking him to the Chelsea job.

Nagelsmann was one of the early front runners for the job at Stamford Bridge after Graham Potter was sacked as manager a few weeks’ ago.

The timing of his dismissal from Bayern Munich, mere months after becoming Bundesliga champion, made the links to a switch to the Premier League not difficult to understand.

However, seemingly out of nowhere things began to cool as other candidates for the job emerged from the shadows.

This apparently spooked Nagelsmann, who was under the impression that he essentially had the job prior to the lengthy recruitment process.

The likes of Mauricio Pochettino remained in the conversation however, and now looks as if he is the favourite to take the job on a permanent basis.

This will no doubt be of annoyance to Tottenham fans, who hold the Argentine high in regard following a successful spell at the club.

Spurs are also on the lookout for a new manager after things didn’t work out with Antonio Conte at the helm.

They are reportedly interested in bringing Nagelsmann in for next season, and Rangnick has now claimed that he would be advised to make the move to North London.

He said: “Tottenham are an exciting club in many ways. They’ve one of the best stadiums in the world.“They have one of the best training facilities, and Daniel Levy, who has run the club for many, many years.”

It seems Nagelsmann’s lack of experience gave the club doubts over bringing him in, especially after the failure of Potter in charge.
