Report: Young manager has already made his decision amid Chelsea links
Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann does not plan to make a return to management despite reported interest from Chelsea, according to reports.
Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday, which puts them in the bottom half of the Premier League table, understandably put Graham Potter under a lot of pressure.
According to an earlier report from Sky Germany, Nagelsmann, who has recently been replaced by Thomas Tuchel at Bayern, is on Chelsea’s shortlist of candidates to replace Potter.
The Mirror, however, claims that Chelsea might have to wait until the summer if they were to appoint Nagelsmann.
The German tactician is reportedly not interested in taking over at Chelsea or any other club this season and prefers to wait until the summer before making any decision.
This does not necessarily mean that Potter is safe until the end of the season, however.
The 11-point gap to fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur suggests a top-four finish is a very unlikely target for Chelsea this term, but they are still in the Champions League quarter-finals.
If Todd Boehly and the ownership group feel that a new manager can boost the team’s chances of beating Real Madrid or perhaps even winning the competition, it makes sense to make the decision soon.
Many of the fans have called Potter to be sacked after the disappointing defeat, and the manager admitted that he understood their frustration.

“I understand when you lose at home that people will be frustrated, disappointed, and angry,” the former Brighton boss said after the game.
“No one is happy with where we are in the league table and we have to work hard to improve that.
“‘It’s an emotional game and I can certainly understand the frustrations after a home defeat.”
