'Too much': Vincent Kompany reacts to Chelsea managerial link
Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has had his say on the rumours of his being seen as a candidate to become the next Chelsea manager.
According to an earlier report from The Athletic, Kompany is now one of the three frontrunners for the Chelsea job, alongside Mauricio Pochettino and an unnamed candidate.
The Guardian later claimed that this third candidate is Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou.
Following former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann’s reported withdrawal from the race, Pochettino is unsurprisingly seen as the favourite.
However, it is also to see why Chelsea are reportedly interested in Kompany after his incredible season with Burnley, in which he has already secured automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Chelsea reportedly rate his leadership and character very highly.
Kompany, however, refused to give any indications of ongoing talks with Chelsea.

“I said I’m not engaging on any of these conversations,” the former Belgium international said after his side’s 2-1 defeat to QPR on Saturday (via LancsLive).
“I have too much at this moment in time in my head in terms of wanting to win football matches.
“That’s the only thing I care about.”
Kompany signed a “four to five-year contract” with Burnley at the end of the season, and The Athletic mentioned that any attempt from Chelsea to bring the manager to Stamford Bridge will be met with resistance from his current club.
Many Chelsea fans likely have reservations about the 37-year-old’s lack of experience at the top level management, too.
It is one thing to lead Burnley to a 10-point lead at the top of the Championship table and another to be in charge of the Chelsea dressing room full of high-profile players and egos.
