Reports have claimed that Chelsea already know what position they want to play Christopher Nkunku in when he arrives next season.
According to The Guardian, the Blues are confident in his ability to play in the striker position for them when he joins up with the club.
Everyone is expecting Nkunku to be a Chelsea player as soon as the new season begins, after the club agreed a deal with RB Leipzig a while ago for his move this summer.
While the footballing world has acknowledged he is a brilliant player, discussions have already begun about whether he is the player the club needs to address their issues.
The player himself has already admitted that he thinks he plays best behind a natural number nine, a position that can be seen as the strongest for Joao Felix, Kai Havertz and Mason Mount.
Chelsea think Nkunku can play striker
However, there is no guarantee any of those three will be at the club next season, with talks particularly advanced regarding Mount’s exit from the club on a permanent basis.
Despite the Frenchman’s preference to feature there, the Blues are not concerned that they couldn’t play him in a striker role if required next season.
He missed more than two months due to injury this season, however still finished the Bundesliga campaign as the top scorer, following on from an extremely prolific campaign before that too.
Supporters meanwhile will still be hoping a new striker comes through the door in order to try and address the extremely large elephant in the room regarding their goalscoring.
Victor Osimhen has been named as a potential target for the club, however a fee is likely to see them break their transfer record for the second consecutive window.
