Reports have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino already knows that he wants Ben Chilwell to be a key player in his Chelsea side.
According to The Mirror, the 26-year-old is the new manager’s ideal candidate for the left of a back four going forwards.
Yesterday finally saw Pochettino announced as the new manager of Chelsea on a permanent basis, the day after their 2022/23 season officially came to an end.
The Blues rounded off their worst campaign in a long time with a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United, who had already qualified for the Champions League.
However, there is now reason to be optimistic again following the announcement of the Argentine taking over at Stamford Bridge.
Work will already be well underway behind the scenes, despite the fact that his contract does not become active until July.
Pochettino wants Chilwell to be key
One of the most exciting topics of conversation is which current players from the club the new manager wants to build his side around, as they look to return to where they belong next season.
