‘100% agreed’: Mauricio Pochettino’s main Chelsea target has now agreed terms with another club – Romano

Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte has agreed to personal terms with PSG over a potential deal.

He took to Twitter to confirm that any transfer to Chelsea is completely off the table after developments last night.

It was reported late last night that the Blues were pulling out of the race to sign Ugarte, despite a lot of the groundwork being done already.

It had been claimed that the Uruguayan had been one of the names directly recommended by Mauricio Pochettino, as he begins his tenure as the new Chelsea manager.

However, it appears an offer from the French champions was too much to refuse for the player, who had apparently shown preferences for a move to the Premier League before this.

Ugarte agrees terms with PSG

Romano has now claimed that the two parties have agreed personal terms over a deal that would his salary get a tidy upgrade.

He said: “More on Manuel Ugarte deal. Personal terms 100% agreed with PSG, Chelsea deal off as reported yesterday night and final round of talks ongoing right now — Sporting and PSG, trying to get it done very soon.

“PSG advisor Luis Campos, crucial in this deal after Asensio.”

Chelsea will now be forced to go back to the drawing board in terms of finding the perfect midfield reinforcement to partner Enzo Fernandez for the coming seasons.

It has been claimed that they are massively interested in the signing of Moises Caicedo from Brighton, with that interest spanning back to before things went south regarding Ugarte.

With his Premier League experience already, some may even be thinking that the addition would be a far better one than if they brought in Ugarte for big money.
