‘Will 100% leave’: 23-year-old now could be headed to Saudi Arabia just weeks after leaving Chelsea - Romano

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that there is a chance former Chelsea star Joao Felix now makes a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

He took to Twitter to state that Al Hilal manager Jorge Jesus, is in direct contact with the player over a potential transfer.

It has been quite the 2023 for Felix so far, however it doesn’t seem as if a positive twist as far as on the pitch is coming his way.

He flattered to deceive during his loan spell at Stamford Bridge, which was very much seen as his opportunity to go get himself out of what has been a nightmare at Atletico Madrid.

However, the Blues, particularly new manager Mauricio Pochettino, were not impressed with what he provided in a dire campaign all round, and elected not to pursue a permanent deal.

Since then, he has cut an annoyed figure back in the Spanish capital, and has been training away from the first team at times.

Felix has offer from Saudi Arabia

While he has been hoping and waiting for a move to Barcelona, it does not look at this stage like that is coming to fruition.

Romano has now claimed that Saudi Arabia has emerged as a serious option for a player who will 100% be on the move this summer.

He said: “Al Hilal manager Jorge Jesus, involved in Joao Félix deal as he’s calling the player to bring him to Saudi as soon as possible.

“New approaches will take place this week as Félix will wait for Barça/Europe but Al Hilal is an option as he will 100% leave Atléti this summer.”

Chelsea meanwhile are feeling confident in themselves going into the next season, after an unbeaten pre-season campaign for the first time in 12 years.

They look forward to welcoming Liverpool to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
