'He's the real deal': Ally McCoist tells 'phenomenal' 24-year-old attacker he should join Chelsea or Real Madrid
Ally McCoist has told Napoli’s Victor Osimhen to join Chelsea or Real Madrid.
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who’s a clinical goalscorer in Italy, has been a hop topic for discussion in the news during recent days.
TalkSPORT recently claimed that Chelsea are currently eyeing the potential fallout between Napoli and Osimhen. Apparently, the 24-year-old player’s agent threatened legal action against the Serie A club after they mocked their own player on social media for missing a penalty.
TalkSPORT pundit McCoist has advised Osimhen to seek a move to Chelsea or Madrid despite links to clubs in Saudi Arabia.
“He can’t go to Saudi Arabia,” McCoist told talkSPORT.
“He’s some player, he’s the real deal.
“He should go to Chelsea or Real Madrid.”
In our view, Osimhen would be a major statement signing at Stamford Bridge that would fix the No 9 curse. It’s worth adding there’s always a seed of doubt when it comes to Chelsea because of previous mistakes, though.
Described as ‘phenomenal’ by Walter Mazzarri, Osimhen has scored goals for fun in Napoli colours. We think he would have a field day in the Premier League with his pace and power, too.
The Blues have youngsters Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja vying for the starting position as Chelsea’s striker in the first half of the season, but most would agree the long-term plan should be to add a proven marksman.
Osimhen looks tailor-made for English football with his overall package as a centre-forward, but let’s see who emerges as the frontrunners to sign him.
