‘In attendance’: Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea have just sent scouts to watch ‘phenomenal’ player

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea have now sent scouts to watch young star Luis Guilherme recently.

He took to Twitter to say that the Blues were just one of a number of elite sides who were in attendance at the recent Palmeiras vs Boca Juniors game.

Guilherme has been the most recent wonderkid linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the future, after they made it their mission to invest in this area of the market.

Todd Boehly has overseen plenty of spending since taking over as Chelsea owner, however has not neglected looking to build to the future too.

In fact, some of the signings that have excited staff the most at the club have been those who are not even in West London right now.

Andrey Santos’ addition last January brought plenty of hype, despite smashing their transfer record a few weeks later to bring in Enzo Fernandez.

This summer, they signed Kendry Paez, who despite his age has already made quite the impact for his senior national team.

Romano has claimed that another could be on the way soon, although no official bid has been made yet for Guilherme.

He said: “Bayern and Chelsea were in attendance to follow 17 year old talent Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras vs Boca Juniors, as two of five top European clubs in the stands.

“No official bid from Chelsea and Bayern but both will keep monitoring Luis then decide about formal bid.”

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea try and jump the queue by adding the ‘phenomenal’ youngster to their ranks as early as this January.
