'Transforms this team': ESPN pundit confident £52m player will drastically improve Chelsea
Shaka Hislop thinks the return of Christopher Nkunku could transform Chelsea.
Chelsea struggled in front of goal once again in their 2-0 defeat to Brentford yesterday, but Hislop, speaking on ESPN FC, says they will get better in that department once Christopher Nkunku is back.
The forward, who joined the Blues from RB Leipzig in a £52m deal (BBC Sport), is yet to play a game for his new side this season because of injury.

However, he was in fine form for Leipzig last term, scoring 16 goals in 25 Bundesliga appearances.
Christopher Nkunku could transform Chelsea
Hislop is tipping Nkunku to improve Chelsea’s attack drastically.
Discussing the 25-year-old on ESPN FC, the former Premier League goalkeeper said: “I think the silver lining or maybe two in this case is that Nkunku, by all accounts, is back training.
“So we’ll see how long it takes him to regain fitness, find himself back in the startling line-up and find form. And I think his presence transforms this team from a goalscoring perspective.”
Will Christopher Nkunku’s return come too late?
According to Mauricio Pochettino, Nkunku could be back soon, possibly after the next international break.
However, by the time the Frenchman returns, Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League may already be over. In fact, they probably are already.
The Blues currently sit in 11th and are 10 points behind fifth place, which could be enough to get into Europe’s elite competition next season.

They have given themselves a lot of work to do and things are not about to get any easier with some hard games coming up.
Pochettino’s men take on Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City before the next round of international fixtures.
By the time Nkunku returns, they could find themselves miles away from the Champions League places.
Honestly, at this point, with all of the injuries, Chelsea probably just have to aim for a top-half finish and maybe success in the Carabao Cup or FA Cup. It is an extremely low bar to set after all of the money that they have spent in the last few transfer windows, but here we are.
