Chelsea fans are all saying the same thing after Nicolas Jackson’s latest display for Senegal

Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson enjoyed a late cameo performance in Senegal’s win yesterday at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Chelsea are currently without Nicolas Jackson, 22, while he represents his country at an international tournament.

Senegal beat Cameroon 3-1 on Friday to qualify for the last 16 phase.

For Jackson, he came off the bench and played the final 10 minutes. He made his mark with some great hold up play and the pre-assist for Sadio Mane’s goal in stoppage time.

The 22-year-old striker is still waiting for his first ever senior goal at international level.

Chelsea fans impressed by Nicolas Jackson

Some Chelsea supporters on social media were all saying the same thing about Jackson after yesterday’s cameo performance.

Plenty of fans on X commented on how good the young Senegalese attacker actually is with his build up play.

One fan wrote: “Jackson with a great hold up play there leading to a third goal.”

Another said: “Jackson hold up play is superb!”

A third posted: “This goal doesn’t happen without Jackson. I see what the scouts saw in him, just needs to improve his box presence.”

Another said: “That hold up play and pass from Jackson was crucial to Mane’s goal. He is better than we think.”

A fifth supporter claimed: “Nicolas Jackson is really underrated in his hold up and link up. Excellent centre-forward play leads to a goal for Senegal.”

We agree that Jackson’s a decent footballer with plenty of strings to his bow. Unfortunately, he’s not yet a clinical finisher and has earned criticism for that during the opening months of his Chelsea career.

He’s scored eight goals in 23 Blues appearances so far, which is a decent return at his first attempt in England. Perhaps the criticism of him in the first half of the season has been a tad over the top.

Speaking via Sky Sports earlier this month, Kalidou Koulibaly insisted that Jackson will have a great future at Chelsea.
