Chelsea fans are all saying the same thing after Ivan Toney’s comeback yesterday

Chelsea fans have been speaking about Brentford striker Ivan Toney after his performance against Nottingham Forest yesterday.

Ivan Toney was making his first competitive appearance for Brentford since receiving an eight-month suspension at the end of last season and did not disappoint.

The 27-year-old inspired Chelsea‘s west London rivals to a 3-2 win, scoring a brilliant free-kick.

Chelsea fans have now made it clear that they want Toney at Stamford Bridge.

“Get me Toney at Chels now,” one supporter posted on X.

“Bring Toney to the Chels,” another said.

Toney scored 21 goals in 35 appearances for Brentford last season. The Bees will be desperate to keep hold of their talisman, especially at this stage of the transfer window.

Will Chelsea fans get their Ivan Toney wish?

It is not impossible that Chelsea sign Toney this month, with the player recently hinting that he could leave the Gtech Community Stadium before the end of January.

However, it is hard to imagine the Blues paying the sort of money Brentford want for a player turning 28 in March.

According to a report from Sky Sports in November, the Bees value Toney at £100m.

In the summer, though, you would expect that figure to drop. Toney will only have a year left on his contract, putting Brentford at risk of losing the England international for nothing if he does not sign an extension and they decide not to sell him.

It puts clubs in a strong negotiating position, so you definitely cannot rule out Chelsea signing Toney at some point. For now, though, it looks like the former Peterborough United man will probably be staying at Brentford, which is likely to disappoint those Chelsea fans who were drooling over his latest performance against Forest.
