'Could use him': ESPN pundit thinks 22-year-old would be a great signing for Chelsea

Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise would be a fantastic signing for Chelsea this year.

That is according to ESPN pundit Janusz Michallik.

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, 22, is an in-form Premier League star that has been linked with a potential switch to Stamford Bridge.

Journalist Simon Phillips reported via Substack back in November that Chelsea are set to make a new move to try sign Olise in next summer’s transfer window.

Michallik thinks Olise would be a brilliant addition to any of the top clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal.

He told ESPN: “The name that they’ve gone after and I think it’s worth mentioning because Arsenal could use a player like that, I think to a degree Liverpool could use a player like that, and the name of that player is Michael Olise… Chelsea I think could use him. I know he signed a new contract, but Palace will always sell.”

Michael Olise would be great for Chelsea

Of course, Olise’s a super talented individual with an incredibly high ceiling. We think the French attacker is already good enough to play for any of the top teams in his country, so imagine how good he’ll be a few years down the line with more experience.

The skilful right-winger is the talisman in the Palace squad and such an individual threat on the ball.

But for Chelsea, we don’t think his profile should be a focus in the transfer market.

The Blues are very fortunate to own left-footed playmakers such as Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke, who both have similarities to the Palace man.

In our view, Mauricio Pochettino’s side need to focus signing a new striker.
