‘Clock is ticking’: Chelsea could loan out ‘outstanding’ player at end of transfer deadline day – journalist
Chelsea have not found it easy to move players on during transfer deadline day, with everyone seeming to acknowledge their need to shift individuals.
Enzo Maresca is certainly dealing with a big squad at Stamford Bridge this season, which has been added to on transfer deadline with their latest expected signing.
A deal has reportedly been agreed in the region of £25m for Jadon Sancho to move to Chelsea after his loan there this season.
It looks though as if a deal to sign Victor Osimhen could not be reached, with Chelsea seeming to stick to their guns and a transfer not going through in the final hours of deadline day.
In their attempts to move players on, they have pushed for many who are not close to the first team to move away, and this has been no different with David Datro Fofana.

With him not involved at all, Mike McGrath has claimed that he could be on the move to the Championship to join up with Sunderland.
He said: “Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana could be a late mover with Sunderland willing to move for the Ivory Coast international. Has not been easy for players to leave Chelsea today and clock is ticking on a loan being completed.”
Fofana spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley, where he showed promising signs when the expectations of playing for Chelsea had disappeared.
He was described as ‘outstanding’ during his time at Turf Moor by manager at the time Vincent Kompany.
However, he has so far not been able to find a move away, and could be set for a season of not too much football if a loan deal can’t be agreed late on.
Chelsea are also still trying to finalise a move away for Deivid Washington, with a deal to Strasbourg seemingly back on the cards in the final moments of the window.
