'Good for me': Pedro Neto shares where he likes to play on the pitch following Chelsea move

Chelsea confirmed the signing of Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday during the half-time break of their 1-1 draw with Inter Milan.

Chelsea made bringing in a new winger a priority and were finally able to land one after finalising the transfer of Pedro Neto.

Neto has already struck up a friendship with Reece James, so it may not take the 24-year-old too long to settle at Stamford Bridge.

He could now make his Chelsea debut when the Blues take on Manchester City on Sunday in their first Premier League game of the season.

Pedro Neto’s preferred position

Neto is a very versatile attacker, able to play on the right, left and through the middle. And following his move to Chelsea, the Portuguese player was asked about his favourite position.

However, he told Chelsea’s official website that he does not actually have one, showing the extent of his versatility.

“I like to play in the three positions in the front,” Neto explained. “I have played more in the wide areas at Wolves but inside is also good for me, I don’t have a preference.

“I hope to bring work, I hope to bring faith to the team, to bring wins, to bring goals, to bring assists, and to bring everything to make everybody happy here.”

Enzo Maresca has also discussed Neto’s versatility, and you would now expect him to make full use of it.

How Chelsea could line-up with Pedro Neto and Joao Felix this season

Neto could be joined by compatriot Joao Felix before the transfer window closes. Felix is keen to join Chelsea, who have made a move to sign the Atletico Madrid star.

If the Blues do go on to land Felix, it will be interesting to see where Maresca plays him, given all of the attacking options he has.

The Italian could go with Felix on the left, Cole Palmer as the No.10, Neto on the right and perhaps Christopher Nkunku up front if Chelsea fail to sign a striker before the transfer deadline.

Felix is at his best when he is in a more central position. But because Chelsea already have Palmer and Nkunku, the Portugal international may have to play out wide if he does make a return to west London this summer.
