Chelsea fans are in agreement about Christian Pulisic after watching him in the Champions League vs Liverpool

With Chelsea not present in the Champions League for the second year in a row, supporters will again be keeping an eye on how their former players are getting on in the competition.

Watching AC Milan play last night will have brought great joy to some who look fondly on the last few years at the club, with a number of former Blues in action.

Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all made the move from Stamford Bridge to the San Siro, while two other former Chelsea players combined for an opening goal.

Alvaro Morata set up Christian Pulisic in the first few minutes, although it wasn’t enough as they fell 3-1 to Liverpool in their opening game.

The American saw injuries ruin his time in West London, although even when he was fit he was struggling to nail down regular minutes.

Chelsea fans impressed by Christian Pulisic in the Champions League

Chelsea fans took to Twitter last night to praise Pulisic, with some wondering if he could still make an impact if he was kept at the club.

One user said: “Seeing Pulisic & now Rudiger score in the Champions League today makes me wish Chelsea were in it so bad.”

Another added: “Pulisic shooting had really improved!! Should have easily kept him instead of biting Mudryk.”

A third claimed: “As a Chelsea fan, we regret selling Pulisic for no reason.”

A fourth added: “Pulisic was good at Chelsea but he’s overdoing at Milan Jesus Christ.”

Finally, one user said: “The Christian Pulisic of AC Milan is the player Chelsea signed years ago. He’s always been good. And his injuries haven’t been as pronounced like when he was at Chelsea. Same with Ruben and other former players. Is it style or our medical team?”

Chelsea are currently well stocked for wingers after their recent summer transfer window where they invested heavily to ensure they had players available for any situation.

Enzo Maresca has already hinted that Jadon Sancho could be key to face up against low block sides, and he proved that in just 45 minutes against Bournemouth off the bench at the weekend.

He will no doubt be pushing for a start when Premier League action returns on Saturday with the London derby against West Ham.

Someone who may have something to say about that is Noni Madueke, who has got off to an excellent start to the campaign for both club and country.
