'He could': Ian Wright makes prediction about Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson amid excellent form
Ian Wright has reacted to the latest eye-catching performance from Chelsea frontman Nicolas Jackson a few days ago.
Chelsea won 3-0 away at West Ham on Saturday in the Premier League, with Nicolas Jackson stealing the headlines for his two goals and one assist.
The 23-year-old striker is certainly enjoying life under Blues head coach Enzo Maresca. In fact, he’s scored four goals and made two assists in five league matches so far this season.
Jackson broke a Chelsea record verus West Ham, becoming the quickest Blues player to score two goals in a London derby in the Premier League after his brace inside the first 18 minutes.

Ian Wright prediction on Nicolas Jackson
Ian Wright has been left seriously impressed by Chelsea’s Jackson after his goalscoring display at the London Stadium last weekend. He’s even predicted that the Senegal international has the potential to develop into a prolific scorer.
When discussing Jackson on The Kelly & Wrighty Show, Wright said: ““Good finish from him the other day. I thought West Ham were very poor, by the way, but good finish from him. If he gets the right coaching around him, he could become prolific.
“If he gets that in his game where, if I am going to, if I am here, I have got to make sure I hit it over there because the goalie is doing, he has got to get into that mindset of striking, so as then he will become so clinical, and with his pace and with his link-up plays, set up a goal for him as well.”
Value for money
A lot has been made about Chelsea’s spending across the years, especially under these owners. However, you’ve got to put a big tick by Jackson’s name when you look at his recruitment.
The Blues signed Jackson from Villarreal in a £32m deal (The Guardian) back in the summer of 2023.
So far, the developing centre-forward has a very positive record of 21 goals in 50 appearances across all competitions.
We definitely think that Chelsea’s first-choice striker is looking like a bargain signing, especially as he’s still fairly young and on the rise. For Jackson, it’s all about finding consistency in his finishing because his all-round game is already extremely polished.
