'He's a top player': Peter Crouch thinks £54m Chelsea star is an incredible signing for them

Peter Crouch thinks that Chelsea completed one of the best signings across the entire Premier League this summer.

Like we’ve commonly seen under this Chelsea ownership, the club were very busy again in the most recent transfer window. The Blues managed to offload so many players either on loan or permanently, plus they recruited plenty of new faces for the squad.

It’s actually Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke, two individuals from last season’s group, that have started the new campaign the brightest at Stamford Bridge. According to OptaJoe, Palmer has the most assists in Europe’s top five league since joining Chelsea.

Peter Crouch hails Pedro Neto deal

According to Peter Crouch, Chelsea secured a fantastic deal when they sign Pedro Neto for £54m (Sky Sports) from Wolverhampton Wanderers last month. In fact, he rates the 24-year-old’s transfer as one of the best of the summer.

When asked to name his top three signings in the Premier League this summer, Crouch told TNT Sports: “Pedro Neto from Wolves to Chelsea, I think he’s a top player.

“I think many in Europe would have signed him and Chelsea have got a top one there along with many others, but I think he’s a top signing.”

Chelsea depth on the wings

Suddenly, Chelsea have some really talented wingers that will all be pushing to get into the starting XI. We expect Blues head coach Enzo Maresca to rotate pretty frequently due to a hectic schedule.

When fit and firing, Neto is a quality wide player we predict will nail down a spot in the best line-up. The Portuguese attacker has so much individual quality, although he had a quiet afternoon against Crystal Palace last weekend.

The former Wolves ace has proven in the Premier League he’s capable of tormenting full-backs with his speed, trickery and directness.

Jadon Sancho’s recent arrival at Chelsea on loan from Manchester United does bring fresh competition in the wide areas. There’s also Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk in the mix, too.
