'Knocking on the gaffer's door': Levi Colwill shares what Chelsea players have been saying to Enzo Maresca
Enzo Maresca could have a bit of a problem at Chelsea soon based on Levi Colwill’s recent comments.
Right now, things are going pretty well for Enzo Maresca at Chelsea. The Blues are where they want to be, currently sitting fourth in the Premier League table.
It comes after their 4-2 win against Brighton & Hove Albion over the weekend. Cole Palmer scored all four goals, but Palmer was still left feeling frustrated after the match, believing that he could have actually had more.
Palmer and Colwill are both Chelsea starters, but not everyone can be that, and that may not go down well with some later down the line.

Chelsea players already knocking on Enzo Maresca’s door
While the season has just started, according to Colwill, some Chelsea players are already asking Maresca why they are not in his first XI.
Speaking to LondonWorld, the central defender said: “Players are knocking on the gaffer’s door every day saying, ‘Why am I not playing?’
“So in training, you’ve got to be at your best, and when you step onto the pitch at the Bridge or wherever you’re playing, you’ve got to be at your best to keep your shirt. That’s how it should be.”
Colwill has also discussed his form and Maresca’s role in his good performances for Chelsea this season.
Which Chelsea players are likely to be knocking on Enzo Maresca’s door?
One player could be Christopher Nkunku. The forward scored a hat-trick against Barrow in the Carabao Cup last week, but that was not enough for him to earn a start in the 4-2 win against Brighton.
Instead, Maresca went with Nicolas Jackson, who has also been in form this season. The 23-year-old managed to register an assist on Saturday and has scored four times in the Premier League for Chelsea.
Mykhailo Mudryk will not be delighted about his situation either. The winger has only made one start in the top flight, which came against Wolverhampton Wanderers last month.
Maresca prefers Jadon Sancho, who has made an immediate impact at Chelsea following his arrival from Manchester United on deadline day. He has three assists in as many games.
Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali made signing Mudryk a priority back in the 2023 January transfer window so will be hoping to see him get more opportunities at some point.
