What Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was doing at Stamford Bridge last night

The Chelsea ownership team have cut far less of an overbearing presence over the club in the last 12 months.

After they took over the role, it was common to see Todd Boehly in attendance near enough every week.

There were moments where many will feel as if he overstepped the line, with him entering the dressing room to rant at players certainly being one of those times.

However, this season he has only been spotted a handful of times, and not all of those have necessarily been to do with the men’s first team.

Todd Boehly in attendance for Chelsea women vs Real Madrid women

A video published on Twitter by journalist Arthur Ferridge shows the American was in attendance at Stamford Bridge last night to watch the Women’s team in their first Champions League fixture of the season.

The Blues beat Real Madrid 3-2, with Boehly on the pitch after the game to greet their new manager Sonia Bompastor.

While the owner may have been all smiles on the pitch, there is still a lot of doubt over what is actually going on at the helm at Chelsea right now.

Rift between Boehly and Behdad Eghbali

There has been a well-documented rift between Boehly and co-owner Behdad Eghbali, with them both meeting this season to decide that things could not carry on the way they are going.

Chelsea fans seem to be pledging their allegiance to Boehly, with them believing he has the best plans in mind for the club going forwards.

Ironically, disruption in the boardroom has actually led to arguably the club’s best form since they took over.

The Blues sit fourth in the league going into the second international break, with there being plenty of positivity about the way Enzo Maresca has started life as a Premier League manager.

The big tests come thick and fast though now, with the next match being a trip to Anfield to face league leaders Liverpool.
