‘Phenomenal’ Chelsea player spotted limping after 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea showed they are more than able to compete with the elite sides in the Premier League when they took on Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

A 1-1 draw was the least the Blues deserved, with Pedro Neto firing home an unstoppable equaliser with 20 minutes to go.

Gary Neville was originally quite critical of Neto yesterday, however the Portugal international proved his class with a sweet strike from distance.

It was clear the Chelsea players put everything into that game, with a number of their top performers needing to step up in the face of a quiet afternoon for Cole Palmer.

Cole Palmer seen limping after Chelsea vs Arsenal

Michael Owen was not too impressed with Palmer’s performance against Arsenal. After nearly finding the net in the first few minutes, he had very little influence on proceedings.

A lot of talk before the game was over whether the England international was even going to be fit to feature in the big game. Palmer was not seen in training in the build-up.

He was perhaps still feeling the effects of that knee problem. A video from Rahman Osman on Twitter shows him limping away from Stamford Bridge after the game was over.

Will Cole Palmer play for England this week?

Chelsea fans will likely be hoping that Palmer now pulls out of international duty after being chosen to represent England for their upcoming Nations League fixtures.

It is fair to say that he has struggled against some of the better opposition in the league in recent weeks, although will now get a chance to feature against a number of sides who currently occupy the lower places in the Premier League.

The Blues have a really nice run of league games up until February now, and Palmer will no doubt be keen to remind everyone why he has previously been described as ‘phenomenal’ by Alan Shearer based on his performances since joining the club.
