'That’s what we all want': Renato Veiga shares what Chelsea's main goal is this season

The Chelsea board will be desperate for Enzo Maresca and his men to qualify for the Champions League this season.

Without it, Chelsea have taken a financial hit and will continue to do so. Eleven games into the campaign, and they are yet to even find a shirt sponsor.

Ultimately, finishing in the top four is probably the goal Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have set the Blues.

However, it looks like Renato Veiga and his teammates are aiming for more than that.

What Chelsea want to do this season and in the future

According to Veiga, Chelsea’s aim is to win trophies now and in the years to come, something that they have not managed to do since 2022.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, the defender said: “I want to give my best for this huge club, and win a lot of trophies. That’s what we all want.

“We don’t know when, if it’s today or tomorrow, but that’s our main goal and that is what we are working towards.”

Veiga has also discussed a tough moment in his career, but things are going well for him right now following his move to Stamford Bridge.

FIFA Club World Cup start date

Chelsea are already out of the Carabao Cup and are unlikely to win the Premier League title, finding themselves nine points behind leaders Liverpool.

However, Maresca’s men have the chance to win the FIFA Club World Cup in its new format.

Chelsea are one of 32 teams who have qualified for the competition, which begins June 15. The Blues have won the trophy once before, beating Palmeiras 2-1 in the final in 2022.

Another piece of silverware that Chelsea have the chance to win this term is the Conference League. In fact, there is an expectation for them to.

The Blues are by far the best team in the tournament, recently beating Noah 8-0. If they do not claim the trophy, it will be a huge disappointment.

The priority will be securing Champions League qualification, but it looks like the team are also eyeing winning some silverware. And they should bag at least one cup after being condemned to Europe’s third-tier competition.
