‘When will we see?’ Frank Lampard is waiting for more from ‘exciting’ Chelsea player after Man United game

Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw yesterday in Manchester United’s first Premier League game since the sacking of Erik ten Hag.

All the talk after the game was about the brilliant individual performance from Moises Caicedo. Enzo Maresca singled out Caicedo for praise in his post-match interview.

The Ecuador international fired the Blues level with his first goal of the season, which put the cherry on top of what was another colossal performance in the middle of the park.

There were very few standout individual performers as far as Chelsea were concerned at the weekend, with many disappointing in yesterday’s game.

Cole Palmer was a little off his best, however still had a really positive performance. There was also a strong showing from Pedro Neto, who was making his second Premier League start in a row.

Frank Lampard wants more consistency from Pedro Neto

The Portugal international worked tirelessly on both wings to create anything for the Blues, and it was those effort levels that won the corner they eventually scored as a result of.

Frank Lampard has said he is excited by Neto, however is still waiting for more as far as consistency goes from the winger.

He said to Sky Sports: “Cole Palmer is out on his own because he has developed to the moon very quickly, and now we see Jackson has done that quickly as well. When will we see Neto because Neto looks really exciting to me? When are we really going to see him go and show that consistently?”

Neto now preferred to Jadon Sancho

Neto has seemed to displace Jadon Sancho from the starting side recently, despite the fact that the England international was ineligible to play yesterday.

Their profiles feel as if one is far more suited to Chelsea’s counter-attacking style than the other, with Neto’s pace on the break a real asset.

It looks at this stage that Sancho would be best off playing in games that require the Blues breaking down a low block, and the string of high-profile opponents they are coming up against in the Premier League is currently not providing that opportunity.
