Report: When Chelsea plan to make decision on Joao Felix's future after claims of unhappiness
Joao Felix’s return to Chelsea has not quite worked out, putting his future at the club in doubt.
Chelsea signed Joao Felix, who spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Stamford Bridge, from Atletico Madrid last summer.
However, the forward has barely been used by Enzo Maresca, making just three starts in the Premier League this term.
His most recent one came in Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Ipswich Town on Monday. There was one moment during the game where Felix infuriated Christopher Nkunku after not passing him the ball.

Chelsea will decide Joao Felix’s future in the summer
It has been claimed that some people behind the scenes at Chelsea believe that Felix may be unhappy after his lack of first-team opportunities under Maresca.
Even so, it does not look like the 25-year-old will be leaving west London during this transfer window.
According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea are not planning to make a decision on Felix’s future until the summer.
Felix may be fighting a losing battle at Chelsea, though, with Cole Palmer currently ahead of him in the pecking order. Of course, the Portuguese can also play on the left, which is where he started in the defeat to Ipswich, but it is not his best position.
Joao Felix should consider leaving Chelsea at the end of the season
If Felix remains at Chelsea beyond the January transfer window and his situation does not improve, then he should think about leaving the club in the summer.
The Portugal international has too much talent to be sitting on the Blues’ bench. Maresca has not been completely fair with him either.
There is no way that Felix deserved to be the first player substituted in the loss at Portman Road. He was way more dangerous than Nkunku, for example, even having a goal ruled out for offside.
The game prior to that, which also ended in defeat, Maresca did not use him at all. Chelsea needed a goal in their defeat to Fulham, as well as in their draw with Everton, yet Felix was overlooked despite being a forward.
For whatever reason, the Chelsea boss just did not fancy him in those situations. It has now given the former Atletico star no choice but to consider a summer exit.
