'They've spoke': Chelsea have asked for £80m Aston Villa player in swap deal for Joao Felix and Axel Disasi

Yesterday saw two Chelsea players who have been on the fringes of the starting side linked with a move to the same Premier League club.

It emerged that defender Axel Disasi has agreed personal terms with Aston Villa, with that move likely to be on loan until the rest of the season.

Chelsea’s Premier League rivals have just lost Tyrone Mings to what looked a serious injury, and seem to be hoping the Frenchman can solve their issues in the short-term.

Unai Emery’s side have now also been linked with bringing in Joao Felix. Their manager has been noted as a long-term admirer of the attacker.

It feels as if Chelsea will not be able to part ways with both players without bringing in a replacement for the rest of the season, and asking Villa for a player in return could work out nicely for both.

Chelsea ask for Jhon Duran in exchange for Joao Felix and Axel Disasi

One player the Blues were strongly linked with signing is Jhon Duran, and their scouting on him seemed to be on the money as he has gone on to enjoy a great first campaign as a regular.

Despite minutes coming his way, the young striker has very rarely been a starter this season, and this could lead to clubs making an effort to bring him in.

One of those is Chelsea. Simon Phillips reported on his Substack that the Blues have asked for Duran as part of the ongoing negotiations for Felix and Disasi.

He first said: “We can confirm here that Villa and Chelsea have been in talks about a number of players, and two sources have confirmed Chelsea are asking for Jhon Duran.

“As reported last week, Chelsea reached back out to Duran and his agents to let them know they are still keen and will be asking Villa about a move this month after they saw other offers going in for him.

“Chelsea have once again asked Villa about Duran for this month. They’ve spoke about a fee, it’s gone that far, but no fees agreed yet. More info when I get it.

“Something can certainly be done with Felix and Disasi potentially going the other way, IF that happens. Early moments in this one but it could develop.”

Phillips went on to say later last night: “A third SPTC source has now confirmed that Chelsea are asking for Jhon Duran. The Axel Disasi loan would be a ‘sweetener’ for that deal.

“I have no idea if the player would come, but in terms of Joao Felix, Aston Villa wanted him in the summer and he would be the actual ‘swap’ for Duran, IF Chelsea could agree something there with his agent and Villa.”

David Ornstein claimed today that a fee of £80m could see Villa accept a proposal for Duran, with them having to contend with him and Ollie Watkins competing for one role.

Jhon Duran would be the perfect January signing for Chelsea

The Colombian would be the perfect signing for Chelsea as their goalscoring touch seems to have deserted them in recent weeks.

Nicolas Jackson is enduring a rough spell in front of goal right now, and Enzo Maresca certainly seems to not have enough confidence in anyone to replace him in the starting side.

The most obvious option would be Christopher Nkunku, however he has been restricted to just a handful of Premier League starts.

The Frenchman is now being tipped to leave Stamford Bridge this month, with Bayern Munich and Manchester United circling for a potential deal.
