Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna makes claim about ‘formidable’ Chelsea ahead of Premier League clash
Chelsea will need to realign their attention to Premier League action as a crucial run of fixtures continues at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Blues will be hosting Ipswich Town off the back of a dominant win the Conference League quarter-final first leg against Legia Warsaw.
Fresh off the news that five Premier League sides will qualify for the Champions League next season, there is still no room for error for the Blues, who are being chased down by the likes of Newcastle and Manchester City.
A number of fringe players made a case on Thursday night to start for the Blues in the domestic return. Josh Acheampong was praised heavily by Enzo Maresca for his display in Poland.

Kieran McKenna praises ‘formidable’ Chelsea
On paper, the next game looks Chelsea’s most comfortable on paper, facing a side who are heavily-threatened by relegation.
However, they will be aware that they are the only side who Ipswich have beaten at home in the league this season.
Their manager, Kieran McKenna, was asked about the task his side have of trying to get something from Stamford Bridge, and was full of praise for Chelsea and the squad they have developed over the past few transfer windows.
He told the Ipswich website: “They’ve built a really formidable squad, a really young, talented, athletic squad. I don’t know how many changes they made for the game on Thursday evening (five), but I think it was a very different starting 11 to the one that faced Brentford last weekend.”

All eyes on Ipswich’s number 19
As Chelsea prepare for their opposition, a very clear name will stand out at the top of the list for players they need to watch out for.
Liam Delap has 12 Premier League goals to his name this season, and will be looking to add to that tally in front of some interested parties in West London on Sunday.
Chelsea are very keen on signing Delap this summer, with a new striker strongly expected to be joining at the end of the season.
Delap has a release clause should Ipswich be relegated as expected, with a host of top-flight clubs certainly prepared to trigger it if given the opportunity.
