'Drives you mad': Alan Brazil can't stand one weakness he's seen in Nicolas Jackson's game at Chelsea
Former Scotland forward Alan Brazil has been one of Nicolas Jackson’s biggest critics of late, with the Chelsea star’s future a huge talking point right now.
Following the Blues’ acquisitions of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, Jackson continues to be linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Amid speculation that Manchester United were interested in him, Brazil criticised Jackson’s finishing.
The 66-year-old has now highlighted another area of Jackson’s game that he has not been too impressed with.

Alan Brazil criticises Nicolas Jackson for getting caught offside too often
For Brazil, Jackson needs to develop more awareness, with the Scotsman feeling that he gets caught offside too frequently.
Discussing the Chelsea striker on talkSPORT, he said: “What does my head in is that he doesn’t look along the line, he gets offside all the time. When you peel wide, look along the line. Don’t be offside.
“It drives you mad. You’re getting out of trouble, the pressure’s off, you’re breaking away and the ball goes wide and he’s offside and you’re back in trouble again.”
As per StatMuse, Jackson was caught offside on 23 occasions in the Premier League last season. Only three players were worse offenders than the Senegal international, so it is clearly something that he has to work on.
| Rank | Player | Number of offsides |
| 1. | Chris Wood | 28 |
| 2. | Dominic Calvert-Lewin | 27 |
| = | Jamie Vardy | 27 |
| 4. | Nicolas Jackson | 23 |
| 5. | Jean-Philippe Mateta | 22 |
However, Jackson may not get the chance to do it under Enzo Maresca after the arrivals of Pedro and Delap, which could now force him out of the club.
One team he will not be joining this summer, though, is Manchester United. Due to the finances involved in doing a deal, United signing Jackson has now been ruled out.

Alan Brazil drops Nicolas Jackson to Newcastle United verdict
While Manchester United may no longer be an option for Jackson, Newcastle United are amid the uncertainty surrounding Alexander Isak’s future.
Newcastle are considering Jackson, but Brazil is not sure if the 24-year-old would be a good signing for them.
“He’s got to learn,” Brazil continued. “He’s pacy, he tries but he can’t finish. I’m not sure it’s a good move for Newcastle.”
The Magpies could do a lot worse than Jackson. The former Villarreal man has Premier League experience, while his first campaign in the English top flight was quite promising.
In 35 appearances, Jackson scored 14 goals, which is not a terrible record. It is clear, though, that there are things for the Chelsea man to work on if he wants to become an elite Premier League striker one day.
