Bayern Munich star claims the Chelsea fans don’t actually like him
Chelsea fans are passionate, and some players get the brunt of that passion. One Bayern Munich star thinks that’s certainly the case with him.
The first Champions League match of Chelsea’s campaign is against a side that has some of the biggest talents in world football.
The Blues aren’t going to have an easy time of it at the Allianz Arena, but the travelling support will play a massive role in helping to set the tone.
Following comments made in a pre-match press conference before Wednesday’s tie, they may just have an opposition target to direct their energy towards, and it’s a player who has never been popular at Stamford Bridge.
Harry Kane hasn’t forgotten about Chelsea rivalry and suggests fans don’t like him
Harry Kane was a thorn in Chelsea’s side on many an occasion during his time at Spurs.
London rivalries extend past the city lines, and the Bayern striker realises there may be some bad blood even after his exit.
When asked about playing an old foe, Kane comments: “I think playing against Premier League opposition, there’s always a little bit more expectation around the game.
“Obviously, maybe the Chelsea fans don’t like me as much, and when we play Arsenal, the Arsenal fans don’t like me as much. But that makes me want to play better. That motivates me.”
Kane was part of a Tottenham team scorned by Chelsea on a few occasions, with Eden Hazard’s final day goal springing to mind, so he’s probably not that fond of Chelsea either.
Hopefully, the 32-year-old won’t be so fired up that he puts on another Champions League masterclass, as has been a common occurrence since his switch to Germany.
Harry Kane delighted Bayern beat Chelsea to Michael Olise
Kane was asked about two of the brightest young attacking talents in world football in Cole Palmer and teammate Michael Olise.
Both have ascended to world class status in recent seasons, and Kane appreciates their ability.
He responds: “Yeah, two great players. Have a lot of similar attributes. I think they both find the space really well. Uh their forward passing is really good. They see runs, they see through balls and execute them at a high level. And both of them score goals”

Olise was close to joining Chelsea after his breakout year at Crystal Palace, but the German champions beat them to his signature.
Kane hasn’t forgotten that, and says: “Yeah, some differences there as well, but yeah, both fantastic players. I’m glad Michael’s with us and not with them.”
Olise should feature on Wednesday night and can show Chelsea what they missed out on. As for Palmer, his injury status is still unclear after Enzo Maresca remained tight-lipped on his availability.
If Palmer does play, he’ll back himself to outperform both Kane and Olise on their home ground.
