Chelsea will be praying Joao Pedro’s horror Brentford record doesn’t continue
Chelsea return after the international break on Saturday night with a trip to Brentford in the Premier League. For Blues attacker Joao Pedro, he’s definitely got a score to settle with them.
The Blues remain unbeaten in the early stages of the new season, winning two games and drawing another to underline a decent start.
Without a doubt, Joao Pedro was the brightest spark at Stamford Bridge in the first few matches. The Brazilian attacker, who joined from Brighton in the summer, has two goals and two assists in three league appearances for Chelsea so far.
It is well deserved that Pedro is up for Premier League Player of the Month because of his dazzling start in West London.
Next, Enzo Maresca’s side return to action this weekend with a short trip to the Gtech Community Stadium to play Brentford.

Joao Pedro holds very poor record against Brentford
Football players are usually aware of their individual records against specific clubs, so we suspect Chelsea forward Pedro will know his record against upcoming opponents Brentford is pretty horrid.
| Games played | Wins | Draws | Losses | Goals | Assists |
| 6 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 0 | 0 |
As you can see above, in six attempts against Brentford so far, Pedro has yet to register a goal or assist. Can he now end that duck this weekend during the West London derby?
The versatile attacker has played Brentford four times with Brighton and twice with Watford, all of them coming in the top division. He’s now at Chelsea, where anything less than three points will be considered a disappointment this weekend.
Pedro impressed with Brazil during September’s international break, so Chelsea fans will hope he keeps the momentum up going into the Brentford fixture.

Joao Pedro sent off against Brentford last season
In April 2025, Pedro was sent off during Brighton’s 4-2 defeat away to Brentford in the Premier League.
He was handed a straight red card for violent conduct after clashing with Brentford defender Nathan Collins, so there could be an intriguing reunion with him on Saturday.
The message from Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca to his new star forward is to let his football do the talking because he’s been outstanding recently. In fact, Rio Ferdinand hailed Pedro’s £60m move to Chelsea as the best value signing of the entire summer window.
