Daniel Sturridge names new Chelsea man as most underrated signing of the summer
Daniel Sturridge is certainly a fan of one player at his former club Chelsea, hailing him as the most underrated signing of the summer.
Chelsea were busy in both of this summer’s transfer windows, bringing in the likes of Joao Pedro, Estevao Willian and Liam Delap.
It has not taken long for Pedro and Estevao to make a real impact either. The former has scored two goals in Chelsea’s first three games this season, while the latter has managed to register one assist.
Before their last match, a 2-0 win against west London rivals Fulham, Marco Silva name-checked Pedro, Estevao and Delap.

Daniel Sturridge in ‘love’ with Joao Pedro signing
While Estevao has been an exciting addition to this Chelsea squad, Pedro is the player who has really caught Sturridge‘s attention.
When asked to name his most underrated signing this summer, Sturridge said: “I just love the signing of Joao Pedro, someone who I think will score a lot of goals for Chelsea, a lot.”
It has not taken long for Pedro to show everyone what he can do in a Chelsea shirt. He grabbed a brace in only his second game for the Blues, which came against former side Fluminense at the Club World Cup.
Since then, the 23-year-old has only gained more recognition, with Sturridge not his only fan.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has also been raving about Pedro, suggesting that he is perfect for Chelsea.

Michael Dawson names another Chelsea star as most underrated summer signing
Ex-Tottenham Hotspur captain Michael Dawson also went for a Chelsea player when asked for his most underrated signing of the summer.
In the same video, the Sky Sports pundit said: “I’m not sure I would say it was underrated, but I just think the value and the price and the player that you’re getting for 30 million in Liam Delap, big, big fan of him.
“And I think for a striker, you see the money that players are going for, I think you’re getting a top footballer.”
Delap has not made the same kind of impact as Pedro, but he has had some good moments in a Chelsea shirt during his short time at the club.
The 22-year-old netted once at the Club World Cup, a tournament that the Blues went on to win, while he played his part in the 5-1 demolition of West Ham United, combining extremely well with the attackers around him.
Unfortunately, Delap is now set for a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury in Chelsea’s last outing.
