Every Chelsea player away on international duty right now and their fixtures

Several Chelsea stars have been called up by their countries for the first international break of the 2025/26 season.

There were question marks about Chelsea going into the new campaign because of a condensed pre-season. However, the Blues have made a strong start to the new term, remaining unbeaten in the Premier League.

Enzo Maresca’s side have beaten Fulham and West Ham, plus they recorded a draw against Crystal Palace in their opener.

Before Chelsea return to action on 13 September with a league trip to Brentford, there are a number of Blues stars in action for their respective national teams.

We’ve taken a look at who has been called up and when they are in action. Incidentally, we’ve only featured Blues players representing their country at senior or Under-21 level.

However, Enzo Fernandez is absent from Argentina’s squad because they left him out due to his suspension. Meanwhile, Cole Palmer’s injury means he’s not with Thomas Tuchel’s England group.

Joao Pedro, Estevao Willian & Andrey Santos (Brazil)

It’s superb to see a Chelsea trio in Brazil’s senior squad this month.

Blues attackers Joao Pedro and Estevao Willian are with the South American giants for two World Cup qualifiers, along with club teammate Andrey Santos.

Moises Caicedo (Ecuador)

Moises Caicedo, who’s started the new season for Chelsea as well as he finished the last, is one of the star names for Ecuador.

We expect to see the midfield powerhouse play a key role for his country during the international period in their World Cup qualifiers.

Reece James (England)

The one and only Chelsea representative in England’s squad is club captain Reece James.

Back in June, James played at left-back for England in his most recent international appearance. Hopefully, we can see him operating in his preferred right-back spot in the World Cup qualifiers ahead.

Pedro Neto (Portugal)

Blues winger Pedro Neto has 17 senior caps and counting for Portugal.

It feels like he’s only getting better and better as he continues to stay fit, so he could be a key figure in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Marc Cucurella (Spain)

The rise of Marc Cucurella into one of the world’s best left-backs in the past 18 months is partly down to his success with his national side.

Cucurella is in August’s Premier League Team of the Month after a strong start to the season with Chelsea. We expect that to continue with an impressive Spain team during their World Cup qualifiers, too.

Filip Jorgensen (Denmark)

It’s just the third senior camp for Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen with Denmark.

He made his one and only senior international appearance against Northern Ireland in June, so let’s wait and see if he plays in the next World Cup qualifiers.

Malo Gusto (France)

Malo Gusto is another Chelsea player who’s fairly new to international football on the senior stage, even though he’s got three France caps under his belt to date.

He will be looking for more minutes in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, but the French squad is stacked with a lot of talent, especially in defensive positions.

Josh Acheampong, Tyrique George & Jamie Gittens (England Under-21s)

Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George, two young talents from the Chelsea academy, are with Lee Carsley’s England U21s side. Also, Blues teammate Jamie Gittens is part of the talented group as well.

We’re expecting big things from the Young Lions in their one qualifier for the U21s Euros.

Dario Essugo (Portugal Under-21s)

Dario Essugo, who joined Chelsea in the summer, will look to impress for Portugal in two U21s Euro qualifiers.

Genesis Antwi (Sweden Under-21s)

Finally, Chelsea prospect Genesis Antwi is part of the Sweden camp for a couple of U21s Euro qualifiers.
