Journalist: Chelsea think they have found another youngster in a similar category to Estevao Willian

Chelsea believe that their youngster Dastan Satpaev can develop to be in a similar category to Estevao Willian.

The transfer policy at Stamford Bridge under the current Chelsea owners has been centred around recruiting some of the best young footballers on the planet. For example, Blues winger Estevao Willian, 18, looks like one of the most exciting teenagers in the sport.

Estevao has already surprised himself at Chelsea with how quickly he’s settled at the club since officially arriving from Palmeiras in the summer. Now, the Brazil international is making himself a fan favourite with Blues supporters with some exciting performances in attack.

Dastan Satpaev, who’s just 17, should hope to follow a similar path to Estevao in the next year.

Chelsea have completed the signing of teenage attacker Satpaev from Kazakhstan club Kairat Almaty, but he won’t join the Blues until next summer when he turns 18. In the meantime, he’s continuing his development in the first team of Kairat, who are competing in the league phase of this season’s Champions League.

Chelsea think Dastan Satpaev could end up in Estevao Willian category

Journalist Simon Phillips reports via Substack that Chelsea believe Satpaev could be another Estevao on their hands.

Apparently, the Blues have huge belief in Satpaev as a young rising star and think he could be in a similar category to Estevao.

The fact that the forward has already got five senior international caps for Kazakhstan is impressive. He’s also scored 13 goals in 33 senior appearances for Kairat, too.

It has been claimed that Chelsea have been working closely with Satpaev ahead of his move to West London in 2026. Even though he looks mature beyond his years right now, let’s wait and see if he’s ready for a huge switch to the Premier League next year.

Chelsea should learn a lot about Dastan Satpaev in Champions League

The fact that Kairat qualified for the league phase of the Champions League should have been celebrated by Chelsea because it’s a wonderful opportunity for Satpaev. As a result, the future Blues player will get the chance to test himself against some elite sides.

Manchester City and Belgium star Jeremy Doku praised Satpaev after coming up against the rising star on the international stage.

If the Kairat frontman can make a positive impression in this season’s Champions League, perhaps he will be ready for Chelsea sooner than many think. The way that Estevao has effortlessly stepped into Enzo Maresca’s main group at Stamford Bridge proves if you’re good enough, it doesn’t matter how young you are.
