What Chelsea players asked the referee to do after Cole Palmer's goal against Bayern Munich - journalist
Chelsea players were not happy after Cole Palmer’s goal against Bayern Munich, which only proved to be a consolation for them.
Enzo Maresca‘s side should have been rushing back to the halfway line after Palmer‘s lovely strike reduced Bayern’s two-goal lead to one.
Instead, though, several Chelsea players went to referee Jose Maria Sanchez to complain about an incident.
Jason Cundy was not happy with Sanchez either, having a couple of issues with the free-kick he awarded Bayern for their first goal of the night.

Chelsea players asked for Jonathan Tah to be sent off
Cundy would not have been happy with how Sanchez dealt with one foul involving Joao Pedro and Jonathan Tah either.
In the build-up to Palmer’s goal, there was an off-the-ball incident where Tah appeared to hit Pedro. He only received a yellow card, but Chelsea players felt the punishment should have been much worse.
According to BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Maresca’s team asked for the central defender to be dismissed once Palmer had put the ball into the back of the net.
For Sanchez, though, a yellow card was sufficient and Tah went on to help his side win 3-1.
Pedro was not able to score, but former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin thought that the Brazilian still had a good game.
As Nevin watched Pedro’s display at the Allianz Arena, he lauded his performance, describing it as being “very impressive”. The forward and Palmer did give Tah and the rest of Bayern’s defence some problems and can probably be satisfied with their attacking contributions.

Enzo Maresca’s verdict on Jonathan Tah incident
Unsurprisingly, Maresca also thought that Tah should have seen red for his foul on Pedro.
On the incident, the Chelsea head coach said: “To kick another player, why is it not a red card? Do they need to see blood for a red card.”
The Blues will now be looking to bounce back from this defeat with a win against Manchester United this weekend.
Ruben Amorim’s men will not pose the same threat as Bayern and really should be a team that Chelsea beat based on their current form.
