Moises Caicedo shares what Chelsea players have already noticed about Estevao Willian in training

Moises Caicedo got Chelsea off to the perfect start in their 2-1 win over Liverpool at the weekend, however it was the turn of a wonderkid to finish things off in style.

Estevao Willian cropped up with his first goal for the club in the final minutes to send Chelsea fans, players and staff wild inside Stamford Bridge.

Estevao was mobbed at full-time by his teammates, with manager Enzo Maresca sent off for his part in the celebrations as the Blues returned to winning ways.

It is fair to say that Chelsea had been the better team for the majority of the game, and had got underway in style thanks to Caicedo’s stunning goal.

Moises Caicedo shares Estevao Willian’s impact in Chelsea training

The Ecuadorian will know all about the pressures of joining this club with the weight of the world on your shoulders, but is an example of how you can be a success after a very short amount of time.

The midfielder told The Sun though that the Chelsea players have been aware just from training with Estevao that they have added a gem of a player to their ranks, with him now making a ‘big impact’ on his new side.

He said: “You can see on the pitch, even in training, he’s so good, and showing his quality. We’ve tried to help him because the Premier League is so different to Brazil, but he’s making a big impact.”

Caicedo being recognised at last

It seems to take Caicedo scoring a stunning goal for some to realise just how good he is, however the midfielder is finally getting the praise he has deserved for some time.

Liverpool fans were wowed by his performance in the big game, whilst Gary Neville described Caicedo as the best midfielder in the league right now, ahead of Declan Rice.

The ironic part of it is it may not have even been his best performance of the week. Caicedo starred against Ajax just a few days earlier.

There will be hope that he is offered a rest during this international break. Ecuador are reportedly considering not taking him with them for their games due to small issues he has been playing through.
